Gastronomy Specialist Apprentice (m/f/d)

As a gastronomy specialist, you are a true all-rounder in the hospitality industry, as you will be trained in both the kitchen and service areas.

In the service department, you are the host, warmly welcoming and attending to guests. You advise guests on their drink and meal choices, take orders, serve the requested drinks and dishes, and handle the billing.

In the kitchen, creativity is required every day. You will prepare classic home-style dishes, international cuisine, and haute cuisine as part of our kitchen team.

The apprenticeship for gastronomy specialists lasts 4 years.

In the ZillerSeasons establishments, we place great importance on the competent and high-quality training of our apprentices in the gastronomy sector. For us, enjoyment happens not only in the stomach but also in the mind. Culinary experiences are a feast for all the senses. Sommelier courses, barista courses, and ongoing training are a given for us.

In our award-winning restaurant Heleni, we cook in an international style at the highest level. Mali’s Wild Herb Kitchen offers light menus daily, focusing on herbs. The dining establishment DieMarie at DasPosthotel is a meeting point for lovers of Austrian specialties.

During your apprenticeship in the ZillerSeasons Hotels, you will receive your apprentice salary 14 times a year.

Your Prospects

The vocational training as a Gastronomy Specialist offers a good springboard for a successful career in gastronomy through the dual education as a Chef and Restaurant Specialist.

You can work as a Sommelier, Cocktail Mixer, Department Head, Chef de Rang, Maître d'Hôtel, Restaurant Manager, Head of Service, Banquet Manager, or even as a Hotel Manager or the owner of your own restaurant. With a completed apprenticeship as a Restaurant Specialist, many opportunities await you.

If you want to realize your potential in the kitchen, you can specialize in different food groups after your training:

Your career path can lead you to become a Sous Chef, Head Chef, F&B Manager, or the owner of your own restaurant, even reaching the status of a world-renowned gourmet chef.
